When metal shops around the world need to achieve a fine finish, Scotch-Brite™ Wheels are their go-to solution. These nonwoven convolute and unitized wheels are engineered to strike a balance between durability and conformability to deliver unmatched results in deburring, weld blending, finishing and polishing applications.
What sets Scotch-Brite™ Wheels apart from the competition? 3M engineers invented nonwoven abrasive technology and have spent decades improving its performance. Plus, they’re backed by 3M application expertise and support.
Scotch-Brite™ Wheels are powered by nonwoven technology — a conformable nylon web with incorporated abrasive grain developed by 3M engineers. These conformable unitized or convolute wheels are the ideal solution for a range of metal prep and finishing applications, from deburring to polishing. Some products in the Scotch-Brite™ Wheels family combine this nonwoven technology with another groundbreaking 3M invention: 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain.
Convolute wheels are typically larger and used on stationary equipment like pedestal grinders, back stand machines and bench grinders. They are created by tightly wrapping nonwoven material around a core and excel in a broad range of surface conditioning applications.
Unitized wheels are generally smaller and used on portable tools like angle grinders and die grinders. They consist of layers of nonwoven material pressed together and cut into various sizes to match your tool and application needs.
This convolute wheel delivers the longest life of any Scotch-Brite™ convolute wheel. Smooth, even wear and a consistently high cut with less pressure make it comfortable and easy for operators to use on a bench grinder or backstand machine.
Unitized construction enhances abrasive durability in this multi-purpose wheel. By combining 3M Precision Shaped Grain with our nonwoven technology, you get a wheel that’s soft enough to reduce defects but wears like iron.
