Get the most important tools for great design — possibilities

The interior space is about much more than just making a great first impression. For OEMs, well-designed interiors are central to differentiation. For drivers and passengers, they are opportunities for new and more personalized experiences. That means optimizing every possible space in the interior for customer convenience and comfort. It means selecting materials that hold up, deliver plenty of options, perform in smaller, thinner spaces, enable lighter weight and above all look fantastic.

A great example: our selection of interior films. It’s a simple, effective solution to attain the look and feel of luxury materials without the extra cost or weight. Along with our films, you’ll find a wide assortment of adhesives, tapes, fasteners and additives that can really open up the interior space to new possibilities.

Start discovering what's possible

3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tapes
  • Two rolls of adhesive transfer tape

Our transfer tapes are designed for thin, permanent and reliable bonds without mechanical fasteners. Apply adhesives designed for performance on specific substrates, exactly where you need them. Tapes can be converted into precise shapes for the most effective, invisible bonds.

3M Double-Sided Tapes
  • yellow roll of tape

Acrylic adhesives bond to a wide range of automotive interior substrates, from plastics and foams to a variety of metals. Pressure-sensitive adhesives bond instantly without curing, and with a different adhesive on each side these tapes are excellent for bonding dissimilar materials. A variety of release liners add strength and stability for laminating and die cutting.

3M Reclosable Fasteners
  • vehicle headliner utilizing reclosable fasteners from 3M

Positive-locking blind fasteners do more than just replace screws, nails, snaps and rivets. They feature mushroom-shaped polyolefin stems that snap together for a high tensile closure, and can be mixed and matched for a variety of closure strengths. These fasteners are excellent for replaceable trim and screen applications.

3M™ Glass Bubbles
  • interior garnish trim created with 3M glass bubbles

These tiny glass microspheres can replace heavier fillers like calcium carbonate for durable plastic parts at lighter weight. With crush strengths over 15,000 psi, 3M™ Glass Bubbles deliver high strength-to-weight ratios – they are literally built for surviving injection molding and extrusion. Spherical bubbles can be modified to suit nearly any density requirement for automotive plastic parts.

3M™ Hot Melt Adhesives
  • Several pieces of 3M hot melt adhesives for automotive interiors.

Available in low- and high-temperature versions, our hot melts liquify to bond to a variety of substrates – even hard-to-bond surfaces like polyethylene, polypropylene and other plastics. These adhesives are fast, durable and versatile, excellent for small joint, mounting and trim attachment as well as large surface lamination for automotive interiors.
